stream of consciousness

grace started 1st grade 2 weeks ago. she loves it. i do too. she's miss smarty pants. i keep being reminded. she's also a pill at home. i mean, really such.a.pill.

tucker starts pre-k on wednesday. he calls it pre-k to feel older since it IS his 2nd year of preschool, after all. he's excited to get out of the house. poor boy has been left a lot lately by grace and myself and he's not too happy about it. mom of the year.

i started school last week. i'm really in the trenches this time. barely keeping my head afloat and tears have been mighty close to the surface this week. (and if you know me, you're aware my tears usually are anyway). had my first day in the icu today. high point-seeing a tracheotomy being performed. low point-cleaning up a whole lot of poo. lesson learned-wear helmets when riding motorcycles.

we moved the week before school. not too far. still with my parents (bless their hearts). i call it my pre-move move. gets me excited to make my own move in the spring-ish.

we rediscovered our josh groban cd. in case you don't remember this-tucker is obsessed. i turned it on again for the first time in a long time and his face lit up. he then preceeded to transform his mood to perform the emotional, intense numbers that mr. groban serenades us with. he sings no matter what the language, and performs hand gestures and dramatic movements with the best of them. even if it includes a few martial arts flips thrown in. it's entertaining. i love his little trance.

Tucker - that is cute. I feel you having a smarty pants girl, mine tests my patience every day. Good luck with the poo cleaning! :)

I miss you. I miss Grace. I miss Tucker (and Josh Groban.) Smarty pants runs in the family (that includes you too, I promise, just keep swimming.) I think being a pill also runs in the family...sometimes.

I love all the pills in my family, big or little, old or young. I was a pill myself, so I know one when I see one! But I have to ask, where did that expression come from? Your Grandma Jeanne used to say it too! You can do it, Bonnie -- the mom thing and the school thing, both at the same time. I agree with Sheila. Just keep swimming.

I soooooo remember this feeling. Amazingly, this last semester will fly by. I promise. Pretty soon it will but a blip in your memory. I love you and you're in my prayers. Plus, I put your name on the temple prayer roll last week. Good stuff coming your way - I just feel it!!!
