Don't get too excited...

Not much to update on, i just thought i would since i hadn't in a little bit. This week has been a little interesting and uplifting in one sense and i'll tell you why...

I have never been that great of a "missionary" let's say and have always been a little scared of the idea of it. I love my church and everything I believe in but it frightens me to share everything so sacred to me not knowing how a person will respond. Not that this was anything like that, cause it wasn't, but it was at least a step. Let's just say "someone very close to me" (to the privacy of this person) has made some very bad life choices and is struggling to say the least. John Doe (let's call him/her) is a member of the church but haven't been active in quite sometime and has always struggled with certain issues regarding more of the "culture" and "expectations" of it. Not so much a struggle with testimony, just more personal issues. "John" is always complaining of life and talking of the church, but was too afraid to do anything on their own. So finally, I made the call, something I've been wanting to do for quite sometime, but knowing this "John's" lifestyle, have been a little uneasy how it would take. I called the mission office and sent out a referral for "John". A week or two later I recv'd a call from "John" where first thing they said was "when did you call the missionaries?" Now, I tried to play it off like I knew nothing of this, but I guess the missionaries ratted me out first thing. They had a pleasant visit and the missionaries invited "John" to church, which he didn't end up going to, but I was pleased that it was at least taken into consideration. "John" was very gracious for my thinking of him and not giving up on him despite his many many mistakes. I don't know what will come of it, but at least I can get a better night's sleep and make one tiny checkmark off my missionary list. (I'm no general authority, but it is a TINY mark in my good book) The BEST part of the whole experience was that I had told the missionaries specifically when "John" would be home and when he was always at work. They came when he is usually gone at work and by some fluke in "John's" schedule he was home at that time. This is a rare occasion and it was a big sign to both of us that the Lord has his hand in this and knew when the visit was needed.

On that note, the rest of my week was pretty mundane. Throw in a couple kids, trips to preschool, the store and playgroup. Mommy pulling her hair out because of this and that and kids bugging each other to no end and that's pretty much the rest of my week. We are a happy family ;)

**I have also added a playlist to my blog. Trying to "spice" things up a little. I'm open to any suggestions since you all will mostly be listening to it. But, you should know, I take my music very seriously ;)
