Tis' the season

I find as I get older, getting into the "Christmas spirit" gets harder and harder. Maybe it's my situation-since the entire holiday season screams to me "hey-you're alone." It could also be due to the fact that it's close to 80 degrees here, or maybe cause I found out the truth about Santa. I'm not really sure which one of those is the deciding factor, but they all contribute. Despite the dilema, there's still a couple things that get me in the mood.

Snow-that's still an issue here.

Watching Luke 2 at the temple. Gets me everytime

Good Christmas music. Not the cheesy kind

Laying the dark with only the Christmas tree on

Listening to the Velveteen Rabbit. This reminds me of road trips in the cold during my childhood. I just purchased it to listen to for our trip next week.

Wearing scarves and boots without sweating

Baking

Decorating the house. These boys let me tag along for a day of decorating and tree buying last week. We do the artificial tree thing around here, so the real tree experience almost made me want to convert. Almost. If the weather wasn't 78 degrees, it would've been perfect.

Watching Little Women

Eating lots of treats

Happy Christmas!

Lots and lots of Christmas music playing constantly, but the good, sacred, choral kind. Or James Taylor. Or Hillary Weeks.

Your list is perfect, although 80 degrees sounds great right now. I just want to go for a walk outside!!!
