The day
So this weekend my kids are in Tucson and I have so much time on my hands I don't know what to do with myself. Today, after dropping them off I had plans to go to the temple, but soon realized I left my bag with my clothes and recommend at home. Whoops! So, then I tried to go to the ribbon store in Mesa to try and get some ribbon to make bows for Grace. I was so overwhelmed in that store, seeing that I have never made a bow before, I ended up leaving without buying anything. So instead I went to Chandler Fashion Center and spent pretty much the whole day there. It's so odd to not rush when I'm out shopping. Whether I have my kids or not, I'm always rushing to either leave cause they're being awful or leave cause I'm feeling guilty and need to get home to them. I must have walked around that mall at least 3 times. Some because I didn't know my way around very well and wanted to make sure I didn't miss a store, and also just because I had a lot of time! There comes a point when I'm shopping for too long, that I just get tired of looking and spending money. Things become a blur and I'm not sure what I'm really doing there. I didn't even spend much money at all, but I just became tired of walking, but had nothing else to do at home. Luckily, I stumbled across the Dillards %75 off sale on kids shoes and picked up 4 pairs of shoes for my kids for about $35. I got some Kenneth Cole, K-Swiss and Puma shoes for around 8 bucks a piece! Yeah me! I was very excited, but I still wondered why anyone would pay around 40 to 50 dollars on a pair of KIDS shoes. Or adult shoes for that matter. Call me cheap, go ahead. After that, I headed over to Last Chance to try and find some shoes for me. No such luck, I think that store is slipping or something. Somehow, I remember the prices being lower when I was younger. Most of the shoes were around $24 or so dollars, which is a great price for some of the brands, but I swear you could find some for like $10. I did find 2 belts for $2 each and a pair of Spanx! haha. Anywho, after dealing with crowds and lots of walking and LOTS of driving, I ended up at my home away from home, Target. I don't really know why I went there, but I left with kids' hangers and went to my real home finally. Now, I think I'll go settle in for some nice tv. Chow!

Sounds relaxing. I wish I could have been with you. By the way, the price thing, it's called inflation. hehe.
I've done that. Sometimes when I'm getting an afternoon to myself I don't know what to do and just wander aimlessly or stay up too late watching junk on tv. I guess I need the kids' schedule as much as they do!
I know exactly what you mean. I'm glad you had a day off, though!
That sounds like it was pretty nice. I want to go shopping all day! I would never pay 40 or 50 dollars on childrens shoes either. Maybe in jr high (MAYBE). Most likely they will have to be in highschool.
